Dr. Sahar S. Mahshid is a scientist, engineer, and entrepreneur specializing in nanobioengineering, biosensors, and point-of-care diagnostics. Her research focuses on translating advances in nanomaterials, synthetic biology, and electrochemistry into rapid, portable technologies for real-world healthcare applications.
She is the Founder and CEO of Beeta Biomed Inc., where she leads the development and commercialization of QolorEX, a patented rapid diagnostic platform originating from McGill University.
Previously, Dr. Mahshid conducted research at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and the University of Toronto, and completed NSERC-funded postdoctoral training at the Université de Montréal and University of Toronto. She holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and is a Professional Engineer of Ontario (P.Eng.).
